Computer Sharp, LLC was founded by owner Ryan McCloskey in January of 2004 with the vision to provide computer support to small businesses in a local New Jersey community. Since then Computer Sharp has grown not only in number of technology solutions it provides but also has expanded beyond the localities of Northern NJ.
Ryan McCloskey started out at a small, but profitable antique store in September of 2000 with the responsibilities of setting up the store website in the early days of online shopping. He created an online catalog of all the antique products in the store and maintained the store website through the years. Ryan was also responsible for the installation of several computers, networking them throughout the building to a Point-of-Sale solution which helped the store owners cut down on manual labor time in end-of-day calculations and summary reports for tax purposes. They also were able to assess which items were hot-sellers and keep a neat inventory of their products. In addition, this point-of-sale software kept records of customer purchases for later pick up and / or delivery. From the humble beginnings at Long Valley Antiques, in 2004 Ryan went on to become the IT Technician for a medium-size Library in New Jersey. This is also around the time Computer Sharp was created in order to handle multiple accounts that were developing over time. At the Library, Ryan was responsible for completely revitalizing the Library website into a one-stop portal for Library patrons and Town residents to keep abreast of the new items added to the Library collection as well as upcoming Library programs, seminars and lectures taking place. The website grew to be a huge hit with several thousand visitors per day and it is now capable of online registration to Library events along with an email-subscribed Newsletter service.
In 2008, Ryan also was employed at a prestigious Accounting firm based in the Empire State Building providing desktop support to more than 40 users in the office as well as being involved in new employee orientation, setting up A/V equipment for web conferencing sessions, and implementing an online electronic filing system for the firm. At times the firm also selected Ryan to enter the field and help their clients in tricky computer situations and ensure the back up of critical accounting data while also providing this support over the phone. Since then Ryan has left the Accounting firm to pursue Computer Sharp full-time. Always receiving high accolades for excellent customer service skills and known to be competent in the IT arena, Ryan decided that it was time to provide residential and businesses customers with a kind of service found no where else. He was aware of the dissatisfaction among residents, and especially among businesses for the poor quality of support they receive from other IT firms and saw it necessary to start a company of change from all the others.
